Growing Naturaleza Garlic

Naturaleza Farm which produces Naturaleza Garlic & Black Umami (Black Garlic) has a high ethical standard which is continuously reviewed and adapted to stay connected to the changing environment.

Garlic Storage Tips

By understanding and respecting garlics lifecycle we can extend its shelf life in storage. Garlic is a living breathing organism unlike most vegetables we consume. The cloves lay dormant until ideal growing conditions present themselves in autumn annually.

Welcome to Naturaleza farm, home of Mary Valley Garlic. Naturaleza Farm is a regenerative family managed permaculture property located within the picturesque Mary Valley in South East Queensland. We produce seasonally ethically grown gourmet produce with the support of nature in our permaculture designed open heirloom polyculture landscape, where 10 percent of our profits are donated to support community projects.

We’re very conscious about what we eat and what farming methods we use that’s why our diverse produce range is grown naturally and humanely using an ecosystems approach which is chemical free and in our eyes beyond organic and free range. Most products are grown to possess beneficial properties with our Elephant garlic seed stock being a family heirloom, first planted by our late grandpa in the 1950’s. Thus garlic is in our blood.

We’re aiming to help connect people with naturally grown quality wholesome food while promoting localvore, encouraging engagement within our local communities building resilience and lowering food miles. Please explore our new website where we not only aim to provide you with direct access to fresh food straight from the farmer (us) to your doorstep but also information on best practice environmental management methods we use to grow it,  tips on how you can grow it for yourself, recipes and lots lots more.

Naturaleza Farm is proud to announce that we’re opening our farm gate to WWOOFers (Willing Workers on Organic Farms) from early 2017.

Why Australian Garlic

There’s garlic and then there’s garlic. The importation of garlic into Australia requires it to be fumigated with methyl bromide to meet biosecurity quarantine regulations which aim to prevent foreign pathogens and animals from entering our shores to protect our industries and environment.
